Cyber Security
INTERPOL World 2015 will focus on four key domains and one of them is Cyber Security.
The Internet has created borderless societies worldwide, providing unprecedented opportunities to generate wealth and stimulate economies. It has become part of daily life for citizens worldwide who communicate via email and social networks, carry out banking transactions and use payment cards to shop online. The increasing reliance on the Internet also created unexpected vulnerabilities that allow coordinated and complex attacks to happen within minutes.
The complexity of the cyber threat landscape requires high-level technical expertise and large-scale cross-jurisdictional investigations to combat cybercrime effectively.
The creation of the INTERPOL Global Complex for Innovation (IGCI) will seek to build strategic alliances among law enforcement, public institutions, private sector and academia to help national law enforcement to keep abreast of the latest technology trends, criminal modus operandi and to develop new effective countermeasures.
